What date is it 12 weeks from today?

Weeks from today: quick answers

Counted from today, Thursday 1 October 2026, UK time.

How weeks are counted

A week is exactly 7 days, so a whole number of weeks from today always lands on the same weekday as today. Today is not counted: 1 week from a Thursday is the following Thursday, and 12 weeks is 84 days later.

Month lengths make no difference, because the calculator counts days rather than calendar months. Nor do the clocks changing: the date moves on at midnight UK time whether the day has 23, 24 or 25 hours.

To count backwards, choose Subtract. To start from a date other than today, change the start date; the quick buttons always reset it to today.

Weeks are not months

Four weeks is 28 days, but only February is ever that short, so "4 weeks" and "1 month" usually give different dates. 26 weeks is 182 days, while six calendar months can be anything from 181 to 184 days. 52 weeks is 364 days, so a year later in weeks falls one day earlier in the calendar, or two days earlier across a 29 February. If you need calendar months, switch the unit to Months, or see how many weeks are in a year for why some years have 53 week numbers.

Where people count in weeks

• Pregnancy: NHS appointments and scans are booked by week of pregnancy, counted from the first day of the last period, not from today. Use the due date calculator for those dates.
• Notice and contracts: notice periods, probation reviews and fixed-term contracts are often set in weeks. For deadlines in business days, the working days calculator skips weekends and bank holidays.
• Planning: training plans, project sprints and the run-up to Christmas. See weeks until Christmas, or look up the current week number.

For a gap in days rather than weeks, use days from today.
